    The King of Aradus

    一次，阿拉杜斯城的长者们觐见国王，乞求他下诏，禁止在城内饮用葡萄酒和其他含酒精的饮料。

    国王冷笑着，转身离去。

    长者们沮丧地离开了朝廷。

    在皇宫门口，他们遇见了朝中的护卫长，他一见长者们愁眉苦脸的样子，便明白了其中的原委。

    他说：“朋友们，真可惜，要是国王恰巧醉了，他准会批准你们的请求。”

    Once the elders of the city of Aradus presented themselves before the king, and besought of him a decree to forbid to men all wine and all intoxicants within their city.
